Lego House: Home of the brick

LEGO House - Home of the Brick - is the ultimate LEGO experience. LEGO House is situated the heart of the village of Billund, the birthplace of LEGO.

Mikkel Sonne/Hello! was Experience Design Manager of the project, responsible for the visitor experience in the paid for zone of the house. Working with an inhouse team of toy designers, brand managers and a  group of internal stakeholders, I managed external suppliers of digital layer, furnishings and production. 

The aim of LEGO House was to communicate the company's key message 'Learning Through Play' through - well, play! You can't visit LEGO House without touching a lot of LEGO bricks, and every feature is designed to invite you to play, build, create and explore with LEGO. 

Key areas included

• Development of content for play areas
• Colour schemes through the attraction 
• Design of furnishings and displays
• Visual identity and signage
• Planning of exhibits and displays in the history zone
• Test and evaluation of digital layer and play experiences 
• Visitor flow control and capacity calculations
• Retail design

Today LEGO House is the epicentre of everything LEGO. It appeals to both fans and regular visitors, and offers something for every age group.
